Sabo is a noble boy who was born in the Goa Kingdom. In his childhood, his parents always tried to lecture him to bea very educational and bearing noble. Once, Sabo had a fight and hit another noble child, and after seeing that his parents where more protecting with the other child, he thought that in reality their parents educated and lecture only "the one" that could ensure their "status" and "property". Therefore, Sabo was lonely despite of having parents. Then one day, Sabo decided to move to the trash mountain, the Gray Terminal, where he met Ace, and together they try to get money to become pirates. The entire plan collapsed when Luffy discovered them and tried to join them. After Porschemy's incident, Sabo begin to accompany Ace and Luffy and started to live with the Dadan Family. The three later would seal their friendship with the "sakazuki of brotherhood", from that day the three where brothers. But one day, his father paid to Blue Jam to capture Sabo and bring him back to his family because of the approaching visit of a Tenryuubito to the Goa Kingdom, and therefore, he ordered to burn the Gray Terminal. Sabo, thinking that this would be the end of Ace and Luffy, trust that the two escape the fire, and decided, before being 17 years old, to sail on to the adventure that same day. Unfortunately, his departure would coincide with the arrival of the Tenryuubito to the island, who show no mercy, shoting his little boat.

Sadie or Sadie-chan, as he prefers to be called, is one of the gaolers of Impel Down, and the one in charge of keeping at bay the four hell tormenting beast. Sadie loves the sadism, and always gets excited to hear screams and complaints of the prisoners. Besides all this, Sadie controls a weapon, a whip powerful enough to cut the neck of an opponent instantly. During the prisoners escape, Sadie tried to deal with Emporio Ivankov, but in his feminine form, he manage to defeat her easily.

Mostly known as Akainu. As Vice Admiral he was assigned to the Buster Call in Ohara. Sakazuki demonstrated his cold blood ordering to open fire against an evacuation ship to avoid any evil to escaped from the island, a sacrifice in post of justice. Later, as Admiral, Akainu participate in the Marineford battle against Shirohige Pirates, which once again demonstrate his vision of justice by killing the Marines who wanted to desert the battlefield. In the battle, Akainu deceived Squard into believing that Shirohige had betrayed them, causing Squard to turn against him and stabbing him seriously. Despite this, Shirohige could continue to fight and beat Akainu, although he destroyed half of his face with his ability. In the final stage of the battle, Akainu reappear again to avoid Ace and Luffy from scaping, achieving to kill Ace.

One of the gaolers of Impel Down, and the responsible for leading the Bulgori with his trident-flute. His name is usually confused with "monkey" (saru).

Sancrin, nicknamed "Sancrin the Thief", is one of the three longarms who wanted to kidnap a girl from Harahettania, but were stopped by Brook. The people of Harahettania locked them in a cage, but Brook took pity on them and let them free, which they utilize to kidnap him, since a talking skeleton would be a perfect attraction for their people. Brook's music ended up being better claim, Sancrin then became the Soul Brook's manayer and took him on a music tour around the world for two years.

Sanji or "Sanji the Black Foot", is the the ship's cook. He can cook a delicious meal for the crew anytime. Sanji came from the Baratie, a resturant at sea. There he was a cook. A person named Don Krieg came along and wanted to take over. With the help of Luffy, they we're defeated and Sanji joined them. Sanji fights with only his feet because his hands were meant to cook with. He is very strong and persistent in battle. But his only weakness is pretty women, espically Nami. Sanji goes crazy for Nami and does what ever she wants for him. Sanji seems to have a conflict with Zoro, since they don't like each other.

Sanji's Past

Sanji was a young cook on a ship, with a dream of finding the mythical place called ALL BLUE. ALL BLUE is a place where all the fish on the world are, and Sanji was to catch and cook them. But the other cooks laughed at him. One day a pirate named Zeff invaded the place during a firce storm. Sanji tried to defend the ship, but ended up into the sea. Zeff went into the sea and and saved Sanji. The ship sank and Sanji and Zeff were left stranded on an island. The reason why Zeff saved Sanji is because they had to same dream of finding ALL BLUE. Zeff divided all the food they had. He gave four days worth of food to Sanji, and rest of the big bag to him. Zeff told Sanji to wait on the otherside of the island to see if any ships would come. Sanji divided his food into for 20 days. As days passed, no ship came. Even after 20 days, no ship arrived. Sanji ran out of food and was dying of starvation. So he decided he'd kill Zeff because he had more food, a whole bag full. So when Sanji saw teh bag and ripped it open, it was just treasure, and not food. Zeff actually gave Sanji all the food to him. Sanji asked how did he survive, and Zeff said he ate his own leg to survive (in the anime, Zeff lost his leg while trying to save Sanji from the storm). A few days later, a ship came and they were saved. Since the two were cooks, they decided that they would open up a resturant on the sea so anyone that was hungry could come and eat.

Sanka is a killi fish ningyo. She is one of the quintuplets ningyo sharing house with Camie at Ningyo Creek. Of his five sisters, Sanka is the one who negates what Ichika says starting a conjugation game between them all.

The merchant who sold the Elephant Tuna to Sanji. In the anime version of One Piece he prepared a cooking challenge whose price was the Elephant Tuna.

A new inhabitant of the island of the rare animals where Gaimon lives. She's a woman who is trapped into a barrel.

Sarkies is known as "Big Knife" because he uses an enormous knife to fight. Sarkies is a pimpin that is always surrounded by women. He is as stupid as his captain and he laughts of the dreams of the others, but he changes his attitude when he finds out Luffy's current bounty.

Satori, also called "Satori of the Forest", is one of the priests of Skypiea. He uses "Ordeal of Spheres" against his enemies. This is when he releases giant spheres that can be explosive, have snakes in them, or some that has no harm. Luffy, Sanji, and Usopp challange this trial and suceed.

A member of the Franky Family who attended the Straw Hats in their fight on Enies Lobby. Later, he helped in the theft of Franky's pants.

One of the crewmembers of the Roger Pirates that enjoyed provoking the apprentices, as in the Shanks' and Buggy's discussions. Not much is known about him, not even his role in the crew, but he was present at the battle of Edd War against Shiki's fleet and he fights using a double-bladed axe.

One of the two brothers who formed the group known as the "Yeti Cool Brother" or "Snow Mountain Hitmans". He and his brother Rock, were hired by Caesar. They were sent to retrieve the Straw Hat crew once they escaped from the laboratory and to kill Chahige while they are on it.

Nicknamed "Rumbling of the Sea", Apoo is one of the pirates called "Rookies", which reached the middle of the Grand Line with a over one hundred million reward. Apoo has the strange ability to turn parts of his body into musical instruments playing songs that hypnotize somehow their rivals. He tried to face the Admiral Kizaru, unsuccessfully, as he was easily defeated by him.

Seamars, nicknamed Captain Seamars, is on of the Space Pirates who were making an excavation in the Moon. When the Karakuri Soldiers arrived at the Moon, the Space Pirates confronted them and managed to defeat them all but Spacey, who fled from the battle. Spacey later return with Enel to the battlefield searching for his friends. Then, Seamars tried to attack Enel by surprise without any luck, being defeated by him.

Headquarter commander of the Grand Line Marine Base. He is know as "Sengoku the Buddha".

He is Dr. Vegapunk's bodyguard, and the one who usually leads the Pacifistas, which are robot copies of the Shichibukai Bartholomew Kuma. Sentoumaru is seen very often accompanied by the Admiral Kizaru, which he calls "uncle", although it is unknown whether they have some kind of relationship. He always carries with him an enormous ax, which has granted his nickname "Sentoumaru with the battle axe over his shoulder". Sentoumaru is able to use the skill called "Ambition" that allows him to hurt their opponents even if they are Akuma no Mi users, thanks to this ability he boasts about having "the best defense in the world".

One of the ancient inhabitants of Shandia who were affected by the plague. He was one of the first people cured by Noland, he always trusted him and his crew and defended them from the tribe. When Noland left the village Seto married Musse, Karugara's daughter. he died trying to defend his people when they were sent to the sky island by the Knock-Up Stream.

Seyla is a marine angelfish ningyo, one Camie's friends who received the Straw Hats at Ningyo Creek on Gyojin Island.

One of the main members of the Heart Pirates. He was capable of resisting the Rayleigh's dynasty traits Ambitionsin the Human Auction, though he stated that he almost passed out.

"Shakky" for her friend, Shakuyaku is in charge of a bar in the Sabaody Archipelago. She is an old friend of Hatchan. Despite her appearance, Shakky used to be a pirate who was persecuted for 40 years by the Vice Admiral Garp. Shakky has a changing personality: she is very nice with her customers, but if they owe money, she has no mercy with them and beat them brutally. She works with a partner, the second in command of the Roger Pirates, Silvers Rayleigh, whom is assumes to have a romantic relationship, since she shows jealousy over his adventures.

The Kuroneko Pirate Crew's ship guardian who is partners with Buchi. They are also quite powerful fighters. When they are called upon to fight Luffy and his crew they pretend they are scared to fight but are really just saying that to throw their enemies off. Sham as sharp blades, or claws that he uses when fighting Zoro. Even after stealing two of Zoro's swords he is eventually defeated along with his partner, Buchi.

Shanba is the leader of the tribe inhabiting the Torino Kingdom.

Shanks is the captain of the pirate crew that hangs out in Luffy's village when Luffy is a kid. He won't let Luffy go on any voyages with him because he is to young. When Higuma the Bear comes to the village Shanks protects Luffy from him but he loses his arm. After awhile, Shanks crew moves onto a different town but he leaves Luffy his straw hat and tells him to return it to him someday. Shanks is a member of the Yonkou, one of the 4 most powerful piratas of the New World.

One of the 200 commanders and captains of the Buster Call that attacked the Straw Hat at the Bridge of Hesitation in Enies Lobby. He is the one who attacked Franky spining his arm and legs like wheels (only in the manga).

Tonjit's horse. As all the others animals from Long Ring Long, he is high and long, to adapt himself to the conditions of the island.

"Golden Lion" Shiki is one of the pirates of Roger's era. He was known as the pirate with the largest army under his command. Shiki knew that Roger knews the whereabouts of the ancient weapons and therefore try to convince him to join forces and take over the world. During his battle with Roger he had an accident in which a rudder was embedded into his head. When Shiki learned that Roger was captured and would be executed, he infiltrated into the Merine Headquarters to demand an explanation but he was defeated by Sengoku and Garp. Shiki was held captive in Impel Down, he is known for being the first prisoner who escapes from this prison, he had to cut his own feet to escape from his kairouseki shackles. Shiki was known for preparing his plans carefully, therefore, after his jailbreak he remains hidden preparing for his next move.

One of zombies that form the Surprise Zombie from the dining room of Doctor Hogback's mansion. Shikiguma is a bear carpet that covers all the ground of the dining room. He attempt to capture Usopp, Chopper and Nami along with all the others Surprise Zombie when they discovered that these suspected Hogback.

Nicknamed "Shiliew the Rain", was one of the gaolers to Impel Down. Shiryu always used to make genocide in prisons, and because of the danger he generated, he was locked at LEVEL 6 of Impel Down. When Kurohige stormed the prison, Magellan would be responsible for his release, entrusting him the mission to stop Kurohige. Shiliew would meet with Kurohige, but rather than confront him, Shiliew let Kurohige go into the prison. When Teach was poisoned by Magellan, Shiliew gave him an antidote to the poison of the warden. At that time, he joined Kurohige crew. Later he joined the battle in Marineford against Shirohige, being one of which end up killing the old pirate.

A Marine under charge of Captain Hina during her mission at Arabasta. He was the one who surprised Fullbody and Jango while they where dancing to impress Hina.

Shioyaki is a salmon gyojin and Head of Banquets. That's probably why he's always carrying around a bottle of sake.

Shirahoshi giant smelt-whiting ningyo. She is the famous Ningyo Princess, which is said to be the most beautiful woman in the world. Shirahoshi is the princess of the Ruyuuguu Kingdom of Fishman Island. She has been detained for years in the Hard Shell Tower of the Ryuuguu Palace due to Van der Decken's threat, a pirate who keeps threatening his life and says he wants to marry her. Although the true is that Van der Decken is after her legendary ability to control the Sea Kings.

The big Orangutan and surrogate son of Cricket, along with Masira. He is know by the nickname "King of the Underwater Exploration".

Shura, also called "Sky Rider", is one of the 4 priests of Skypiea. He uses the "Ordeal of String" against his opponents. He uses an invisible and indestructible string distributed like a spider net in his territory. He also fights riding his giant bird and a lance that burns through anything, because it works with a Flame Dial. Wiper and the other Shandian people face this ordeal and prevail.

Madame Shyarly is a mako shark ningyo. She's the owner of the Mermaid Cafe of Gyojin Island and a powerful fortune teller, apart from Arlong's little sister. It's said thad she predicted great events such as the beginning of the Great Pirate Age or the outcome of the battle of Marineford with Whitebeard's death. With the arrival of the Straw Hat crew to Gyojin Island, Madame Shyarly predicted the destruction of the island by Luffy.

Sicily was the one who informed Sengoku when Luffy attacked Charloss-sei in the Human Auction of the Sabaody Archipelago. He pointed the Kid Pirates, the Heart Pirates and Straw Hat crew as those involved in the incident, adding that they held hostage three Tenryuubito on the building.

Captain of the Space Pirates who were making an excavation in the Moon. In that place were the ruins of an old civilization related to the winged people of Skypiea and Shandia, but the reason why they tried to unearth them is still unknown. He was alongside his crew by Enel when he saw how they were destroying his precious Fairy Verse.

Nicknamed "Dark King", Rayleigh was the second in command of the Roger Pirates, the right hand of the Pirate King. His first appearance in the series was disciplining in one of their many discussions his young cadets Shanks and Buggy. Later, we would know that he was the second in command of the Roger Pirates, for who he always kept a great admiration. Rayleigh confess that Roger was the one who surrender to the Marines, thus assuming that Roger would begin a new Piracy Era. Rayleigh now runs a ships "coating" business in the Sabaody Archipelago along with his partner Shakuyaku. Rayleigh has helped Luffy and his gang on numerous occasions, since in the past, Shanks told him that Luffy used the same words as their captain.

Along with his sister Sind, he was one of the first children who were held in the Biscuits Room at Punk Hazard's laboratory. He's one of the children with a more notorious gigantification, due to all the time that Caesar has been experimenting with him.

Smiley is Caesar's pet, a Smile created with poisonous gas leaked after the accident four years ago in Punk Hazard. Thanks to the Sara Sara no Mi, he has managed to give him life. Smiley is the centerpiece of "Shinokuni", the mass destruction weapon that Caesar is developing.

Smoker, also know as the "White Hunter", is the head marine in Logue Town. He has the power of the Moku Moku fruit, which allows him to control smoke. 22 years ago, when he was young, he witnessed the execution of the pirate king, Gold Roger, and how it set off to great age of piracy. Smoker's partners are Tashigi and Hina the "Black Cage". They've been chasing down the straw hat pirates ever since their meeting at Logue Town. After the events at Arabasta he was promoted from Captain (Taisa) to Commodore (Junshou). After taking part at the Marineford war and her transfer to the Marine G-5 base, Smoker was promoted to Vice Admiral (Chuujou).

"Rebar Smoothy" is a former pirate who was captured and taken to Punk Hazard as a guinea pig for government experiments. After the laboratory accident he lost his legs, but was rescued by Caesar. Later, thanks to the Law's ability he was transformed into a centaur.

One of the two King Bulls of the Franky Family. Sodoma and Gomorra were rescued from inside the stomach of a sea monster by Franky, since them they are loyal to him. During the combat in Enies Lobby, Sodoma falls after receiving a mortal cannon shot in the chest.

Sogeking "King of Snipers", is a superhero sent by Usopp to help in Robin's rescue from the CP9. In fact he is not other that the own Usopp, who has adopted this identity to avoid that their friends recognize him, since he is not able to front them after what happened in his discussion with Luffy about Merry.

Sonier is one of the fifty shipwrights that Foxy offered to Luffy at the conclusion of the Davy Back Fight. He is described as the "boss of the fifty shipwrights".

Sora is one Camie's friends who received the Straw Hats at Ningyo Creek on Gyojin Island.

Soro was Helmeppo's wild dog. Roronoa Zoro killed him to protect Rika, a girl from Shellstown. Helmeppo them ordered the capture and execution of Zoro as revenge.

The First Lieutenant Spacey is one of the four robots made by doctor Tsukimi. After the death of her creator, who died shoked by after see an explosion in the moon while he was eating, they marched to the Moon searching for revenge. In the Moon they meet the Space Pirates and they are defeated. But Spacey would meet Enel, that already had arrived at the Moon, with his help they would defeat the Space Pirates and they would even find in the Moon indications of the origin of the winged people of Skypia and of robots like Spacey.

Spandam once was the leader of the CP5, that was assigned by the government to recover Pluton's blueprints and the one who captured Tom for the crime of creating the Roger’s ship, the Oro Jackson. Now years later, Spandam is the leader of the CP9 and his main mission continues being the same one, to recover Pluton's blueprints. Unlike the rest of the CP9 members, Spandam is not strong but he is a great leader and a strategist.

Spandine was the Commander in Chief of CP9 twenty years ago. Spandine led the investigation of Ohara, which in truth was nothing but a formality before he initialized the Buster Call on the island, through the Golden Den Den Mushi. Spandine was the one who shot Robin's mentor, Doctor Clover, before he could reveal the result of the Oharan scholars' work, and also briefly recaptured Robin's mother, Nico Olvia. It is because of him that a 79 million Berries bounty was put on Robin, because he knows that Robin is a scholar who escaped from the island. As Spandine is Spandam's father, he passed him his title in the CP9.

Spector is the owner of the Tropical Hotel at Mock Town. Bellamy's presence in his hotel terrified him, so he refused any new visitor.

One of the New World captains who attended Shirohige in battle at Marineford to prevent Ace's execution.

He is the most important beast at Impel Down. As the Manticore, he is able to repeat some human words, and in his case, he mentions names of pastas and noodles. He is an extremely powerful beast, being even capable of destroying a Kairoseki net with his claws.

Splash is one of the two twin okama pirates which the Straw Hat crew found at the Coral Hill's bar, in Gyojin Island, so he donates Sanji S RH negative blood. Due to the laws, gyojins and ningyos can't exchange blood with humans, so they searched for a human donor around the island.

Squard the "Great Whirlpool Spider" is one of the captains of the New World who attended Shirohige in its war against the Marine HQ to avoid the public execution of Ace.

One of the Vice Admiral in the meeting when Brandnew explained Luffy's progress in East Blue when his first reward was decided. He was a Marine representative attending to the meeting between the Shichibukai and the Marine after the defeat of Crocodile, where he was attacked by Vice Admiran Mozambia who was being manipulated by Doflamingo. Later, during the battle of Marineford, he would be one of those that would see under surprise the awakening of Luffy's Ambition.

Stalker is one of the officers in Vice Admiral Momonga's ship.

Stansen is the giant who was captured by the Coffee Monkeys. He was the main sale of the Human Auction, until Petterman came with Camie. He escaped from the auction with the help of Rayleigh and the Straw Hat crew.

Sabo's adopted brother. He was adopted by the family after the Sabo disappeared to take his place and marry a princess in order to maintain the stability of the family. As all the nobles he treat with contempt the lower classes and is applied in the studies, and thus the opposite of his adopted brother. he was the one who told Sabo who about the nobles plan to burn the Gray Terminal.

Stevie is one of the Umi Ressha organizers at the Water Seven station along with Buchon. During the depart of the Puffing Tom towards Enies Lobby, they tried unsuccessfully to prevent Sanji to board it. Later, with the arrival of the Aqua Laguna, they were rescued by Pauly.

One of the five Vice Admirals leading the Buster Call on Enies Lobby. Unlike anyone can expect about the Buster Call, he seems to worry about his comradeship, reason why he decides to help evacuating all Marines and agents of Enies Lobby before commencing his attack. In his time as a Marine Rear Admiral, he informed Borsalino about the attack of the Taiyou Pirates over Kadar Read Admiral's ship, after which he was charged to ambush them on Foolshout Island, an event that triggered the death of Fisher Tiger.

Stronger is the horse that rides Doc Q, like his owner seems that he doesn't have forces and looks like he can't stand on foot.

Kanishitoru is one of the guards who escorted Buggy and Mr. 3 to LEVEL 5 without realizing that Hannyabal was actually Mr. 2.

Surume is a Kraken brought by the New Gyojin Pirates from the North Pole to destroy all those human pirate ships that depart towards Gyojin Island. However Surume befriended with Luffy and ends up rebelling against Hody, although he threatened him with killing his brothers.

Suu is a Cloudfox and Conis pet.

One of the Kuja warriors of Amazon Lily that founded Luffy in the forest, along with Marguerite and Aphelandra. She is an obese woman, who has the habit of adding to his dialogue "The episode of...". She joined Marguerite in his plea to spare Luffy's life, ending being turned into stone by the Pirate Empress, the Shichibukai Boa Hancock. After Luffy fight against Hancock's sisters, he managed to get Sweet Pea and the others out from their spell.
