Ankoro angler fish who lives in the deep sea. When the Straw Hats came into his territory, in their way to Gyojin Island, Ankoro tried to eat the Thousand Sunny. However, his colleague Wadatsumi regard him because hat way they will not achieve the treasures from the ship and Captain Van der Decken will be angry with them.

Van der Decken IX is the current captain of the Flying Pirates, he's a descendant from the Van der Decken of the legend. He's a bullhead shark gyojin, with the strange habit of ending his sentences by saying "I think". Decken has the ability of the Mato Mato no Mi, which allows him to mark a target with each hand and throw objects that always get to them. When Queen Otohime died, Decken took the opportunity to touch the Princess Shirahoshi with his right hand. Since then he has been stalking her, saying he wants to marry her and throwing her a little dangerous gifts, but what he really want from her is Shirahoshi's ability to control the Sea Kings. This has led to Shirahoshi to stay hidden all this time in the Hard Shell Tower of the Ryuuguu Palace. Wadatsumi, nicknamed "Oonyuudouu", is a giant tiger blowfish gyojin. He's a huge goofy gyojin under the orders of Van der Decken.
