The reason Ginny was kidnapped is because a Tenryuubito put an eye on her and wanted to make her his wife. Two years after this incident, Ginny contacts the Revolutionary Army to inform them that she had been discarded by the Tenryuubito after contracting a deadly disease. Kuma quickly went in search of her, but by the time he arrived she had died, though along with her she left a newborn baby girl that Kuma swore he would take care of. Kuma nursed the child with the help of Sorbet elders while continuing to fight alongside the Revolutionary Army. But after some time, Bonney would develop the same illness as her mother and Kuma had to abandon the revolution. Kuma boarded up the entire church to prevent exposure to light from accelerating the disease, but its spread was unstoppable and the doctor predicted that Bonney would die by the time she was 10 years old. Some time later, the elders arrived frightened at Kuma's church to warn him of the return of King Bekori.
