Luffy follows Hyou's indications to try to control his new technique. Meanwhile, the three men who attacked the oiran's procession now live in Tonoyasu's house, in Ebisu Town. An old woman tells Nami and Usopp that the three of them made their fortune by setting fires. Tonoyasu is a beloved figure in Ebisu Town, he sacrifices himself for everyone giving them whatever he has, even the money his daughter Toko sends him from the capital. Back in the mines, the fight is postponed due to nightfall. Raizou, who remained hidden within Caribou, makes an appearance to devise a rebellion in the mine that provides them allies for the battle against Orochi.
